Adolescent Therapy
“Rather than focusing on the obstacle in your path, focus on the bridge over the obstacle.”
Mary Lou Retton
Nothing about being a teenager is easy. Your brain is attempting to cope with social pressures, intense life transitions, developing your identity, parent and sibling relationships, romantic relationships, and figuring out gender and sexuality all while going to middle school or high school. It feels like you have constant pressure on you to excel at everything, all the time, while you are also expected to enjoy these last few years without bills or adult responsibilities. Being a teenager means constantly being pulled in a million different directions and sometimes feeling like no one in your life understands just how hard that is to manage.
At Bridging Connections Therapy, adolescent individual therapy is about learning how to tune into yourself and better understand who you are and how you want to live your life. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with everything you are trying to manage and accomplish and that can leave you feeling frustrated, lonely, and maybe even hopeless when you don’t have the support you need. Our therapists aren’t here to tell you who you’re supposed to be or what you’re supposed to do. We’re here to help you figure out how to solve your problems in the healthiest and most effective way for you.
