Family Therapy
“In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, bridge to our future.”
Alex Haley
Our families are often our greatest support systems and our greatest sources of frustration. They mean the world to us and usually know us better than we even know ourselves. However, all of that closeness can sometimes lead to miscommunications and misunderstandings that make us feel more separate than together. Whether is problems with transitioning between family developmental stages, differences in parenting styles, parent-teen conflict, or more stability and structure within the family, we are here to help.
At Bridging Connections Therapy, family therapy is about learning to hear each other once again and establishing the family structure that best fits your unique family’s needs. It is often a lack of feeling understood or appreciated that leads families to getting stuck in the same old patterns or arguments. Once communication is opened again and the old wounds to connection are worked through, cooperation flows and problems are solved cooperatively.
Here are some common reasons families seek family therapy with us:
-
Parent-Teen conflict
-
Grief and loss
-
Step-family Dynamics/Meshing
-
Divorce
-
Parenting Children with Special Needs
-
Co-Parenting Difficulties
